International star Al Pacino tells Al-Mawed: My life was full of hardships
Many actors, after an easy life full of fame and wealth, disappear from sight as they grow older and the public forgets them. I can mention a large number of actors who we only hear about when they die and are mentioned in the news, but others, who are few, were able to continue acting after their youth faded, as well as actresses who sink into oblivion when wrinkles appear on their features despite plastic surgery.
Al Pacino is one of the group that refused to withdraw and continued working until now, at the age of seventy-five. He began his life in a poor family living in a poor neighborhood in New York City, where he was born and raised as a young man. His father left the family when he was two years old and his mother and grandmother raised him. Al Pacino grew up and worked in many fields before entering acting. He worked as a "porter" and "postal worker" and any other job to support himself. Despite the difficulties, he was able to study acting in several schools for this purpose in New York City until fate happened to meet and work with the great director and actor "Charles Laughton", who found in him many talents to become a distinguished actor.
