- I learned not to speak with my Spanish accent in my last films.

- My husband is straightforward and often says things to me that he knows will upset me.

- I don't think about money or wealth.

The famous star Salma Hayek has not only captured the attention of the cinema audience with her beauty, but also with her ability to impress the audience through her embodiment of difficult and bold roles in films that shed light on the problems and crises that the world and the United States of America are suffering from.

Salma Hayek is from a Lebanese-Mexican family. Her father is of Lebanese origin and was a businessman in Mexico. He had political interests, so he ran for mayor of Coatzacoalcos, but he did not win the elections and continued to manage his business as the head of an oil company in Mexico. Her mother was an opera singer, so Salma inherited art from her mother and her love of business as a film producer from her father. Her beauty, which combined Lebanese and Spanish beauty, as her mother is of Spanish origin, opened the way for her to appear in commercials for major companies. She was the advertising face for Revlon cosmetics. Her beauty also opened the way for her to enter the world of cinema. She started with the famous American film (Wild Wild West), in which she played the lead role. However, she did not stop at acting only, but produced and directed several Mexican films that achieved great success, and won numerous American awards such as the "Oscar" and "Golden Globe" and other awards for television work.

Her latest film was “Beatriz at Dinner,” in which she played the lead role. It tells the story of a dinner party that brought together several people of different nationalities. The American guests mocked the other nationalities, so Salma confronted them and gave them a lesson in morals. In the film, she even threw objects that were on the dinner table at the face of those who mocked others.

I asked her:

Did you act in the movie to preach a sermon?

She said:

- I acted in the film to draw the audience’s attention to the fact that we are all equal and that no gender is better than the other, but when the scriptwriters wrote the film, they did not have in mind the subject of immigrants to America or building a wall between America and Mexico, and I am very happy that I acted in this film, and my concern now is to act in a film that the audience loves regardless of the political or social point of view.

I told her: I know that you have environmental concerns and are trying to advocate for maintaining clean air.

She said: We all live on Earth and we must enjoy a clean atmosphere and do what we can to preserve the purity of the air we breathe. For my part, I own a car that runs so that it does not pollute the air. I also host various homeless animals and I have a farm in Mexico and a horse stable that we do not ride but leave loose once in a while. I do not wear fur that is produced from raising animals and skinning them to take their fur. I love nature with all its features, from trees, mountains and rivers.

I noticed that she was speaking with a weak English accent, as everyone knows that her native language is Spanish, so I asked her: “In the movie, you speak with an English accent and we only heard a little Spanish accent, and now you speak with a very clear Spanish accent, so how did you hide your Spanish accent in the movie?” She said that she learned it with teachers, because the movie is American and she had to practice a lot and repeat the sentences, and that was easy for her since she lives a lot of time in America.

I told her that she was in her last movie which we were talking about, "Beatriz at Dinner". Had her husband seen it and what was his opinion of the movie? She said that her husband loves action in novels and she was afraid, even convinced, that he would not like it, but she was surprised that he was very happy with it. She asked him, "Is this true or are you saying that to please me?" He said, "No, that is true." I know that he was telling me the truth, as he often says things to me that he knows will upset me a lot, but he does not care!

I told her that I heard that you have a pet goat. Is that true? She said, “Yes, I have a goat and I have many other animals that I love all of them. It is difficult to find an animal that I do not have. I love animals. They are part of the nature in which we live. The world without animals would be empty and boring. We all share this planet that we call the Earth.”

I asked her about her opinion on money and wealth, and she said that she does not think about money or wealth, and she said that at one time she was poor (even though we know that her father was a wealthy businessman), but she married a wealthy man, and he also does not care or think about that, but they live their lives like any other family.
