Hello, what's the appointment?

The editor-in-chief of Al-Mawed magazine, Badih Serbey, was the first journalist to make stars speak directly to their audience, through a special competition called “Hello Al-Mawed,” where he announced in the issue the date of an artist’s arrival, without disclosing the name, to the magazine’s offices in the Ras Al-Naba’ area in Beirut.

At the appointed time, the guest arrives and starts answering phone calls from readers. Through their questions, they must know the name of the artist. The winners received valuable prizes. The star answered the phone calls from Serbey’s office, and an open line in the editorial room was setup to record all calls and publish them in the next issue of Al-Mawed.

This photo was taken in Badih Serbey's office during an episode of "Allo Al-Mawed" hosted by the brown nightingale.

It happened that the brown nightingale, Abdel Halim Hafez, was a guest on (Allo Al-Mawed), and the news leaked before he reached the magazine’s office, so people gathered on the sidewalks opposite the Al-Mawed office, which led to a huge traffic jam. The traffic police came as a result to organize the traffic, and Abdel Halim was signing autographs and greeting his audience with all his love as he left the magazine’s offices, promising to visit again.
