A photographic report of the late guitar wizard Omar Khorshid
Omar Khorshid was the star of the nightlife in Beirut, where his performances attracted the upper class of Lebanese society every night, who would crowd to reserve a table at the place where he played in the “Epi Club”.
Omar Khorshid said in an exclusive interview with Al-Mawed: “The community I played for in Beirut was not one of those who listened to oriental music, but I was able to attract this community to the oriental pieces I played, and the art I presented turned into a fashion that spread quickly in Beirut. From here, I got to know my Lebanese wife, Dina, who came one day to hear me play, and it happened that her friends who came with her were also my friends, and we started going out together, and our relationship developed, and then we got married.”
Al-Mawed magazine's lens captured this photo on the seafront in Ain El Mreisseh, Beirut, opposite the Riviera Hotel, during a photo investigation of the late guitar wizard Omar Khorshid.
