23 years since the passing of "Arab Amigo" Hekmat Wahbi

23 years have passed since the passing of radio broadcaster Hekmat Wahbi, the most famous broadcaster on Radio Monte Carlo, who was nicknamed “The Arab Amigo.”

He had a distinctive style in radio presentation and dialogues, and his programmes were followed by a large audience from all Arab countries.

A few months after his marriage to Hala Alama, he was diagnosed with brain cancer and passed away on September 20, 1992 at the age of 41, leaving behind a son, Jad, who was only 5 months old at the time and is now a young man working in the media field.
