Dalida orders falafel in Beirut
This photo was taken of the international star Dalida, at the Piccadilly Theatre in Beirut, in 1972, where she came to perform concerts.
She held a press conference and was received by the brothers Khaled and Hashem Itani, with a large bouquet of flowers. The journalists showered her with questions. She said, “I am hungry. Is there falafel here?” One of them volunteered to buy her a sandwich near El Dorado.
Then she started browsing Al-Mawed magazine with admiration, and on its cover was a picture of the musician Farid Al-Atrash, and she tried to understand from the pictures what was written, then she asked Mr. Munir Musa if the great artist Farid Al-Atrash was present in Lebanon, because she had a friendship with him. Then she asked the photographers to take the pictures from a distance, because she had not finished her makeup.
Then she ended the conference saying, "I will go to a famous restaurant to eat tabbouleh and kibbeh."
