Georgina Rizk did not like the spotlight
Georgina Rizk's first appearance was when she worked as a model while she was still a school student, then she stood in front of the camera and presented TV ads, until she was contacted by the Frenchman who loved Lebanon, Monsieur Bersin. I remember that he was our neighbor in the same building in the Ras El Nabeh area in Beirut, and he worked in the sports field and on Lebanese TV. He asked her to participate in the Miss TV competition, so she agreed and won the title of queen. Then he contacted her again and convinced her to participate in the Miss Lebanon competition, and she won the title until she was crowned Miss Universe in Miami in 1971. On that day, her fame spread worldwide, and offers began to pour in on her, including from Hollywood to act in films, but she refused.
After a year of traveling around the world and the end of her beauty term, she returned to Beirut and divided her attention between the clothing store in which she participated, located in Hamra Street, and her work at the Casino du Liban. She continued to reject cinematic offers until the late Lebanese director Mohamed Salman was able to convince her to act in a film he directed. It was the film Guitar of Love with the late artist Omar Khorshid and the late great star Sabah, then came the film "Bye Bye, Sweetheart" and "The Queen and I", but Georgina did not like cinema and had one theatrical experience with the late director Romeo Lahoud. Although she loved the theater, she did not like the spotlight.
After her first marriage, and the birth of her first son Ali, and after the loss of her husband in a car explosion, she did not return to the spotlight, and even after her marriage to the star Walid Tawfik, her concern was to start a family, so she gave birth to Walid and Nourhan. She preferred to be a mother and a wife and continued to deal cautiously with the spotlight because she always says about it "a headache."
