The movie "I Fell into a Sea of Honey" starring and produced by Nabila Obeid
The movie "I Fell into a Sea of Honey" starred and was produced by Nabila Obeid. When she wanted to buy the story from its author, the writer Ihsan Abdel Quddous, he told her: "I have written 27 stories so far that have been turned into movies. When I saw these stories, or most of them, on the screen, I was not satisfied with the cinematic treatment. In fact, I often found myself forced to deny their paternity."
Nabila Obeid promised him that she would destroy the movie if he did not like it. He told her: "I will give you the story, but if you are not satisfied with the movie, all I ask is that you remove my name from the ads as the author of the story and write that it was written by Nabila Obeid." She laughed and agreed.
The filming of the movie began and Nabila was acting without any consideration as a producer, to the point that one scene was re-shot more than forty times and a large amount of raw film was used, costing a thousand pounds, all in order for the film to be admired by its writer and the audience. When the filming was over, Nabila Obeid invited the writer Ihsan Abdel Quddous to watch the movie, and when the lights were turned on in the hall, Ihsan Abdel Quddous congratulated Nabila Obeid and said to her, laughing, “I can admit that I am the legitimate father of this story.”
